I’d say this school year has been one of the best I’ve ever had.  For once I feel included by the other students. I spent a majority of my life as an outsider, with others forgetting about me or finding me weird and annoying.  But at this school I’d say that people don’t mind me, if not like me! I know that the teachers like me too, which feels good to say.  Adults don’t usually like me either.  I know that the social aspect of school probably isn’t what I should be worried about, but I’m just happy to finally say that people don’t mind me.  School itself, I’d say I love as well.  I like doing things at my pace and having the freedom to do projects based on what I want.  I appreciate reading what I want.  I also have always preferred projects over everything else which makes this school so much better for me.  I think that this school is good for me and this is where I should be.  Maverick is still my favorite part though.  But I’m happy here.  It’s been a long time since I’ve felt that way.

I feel pretty sure of myself in this environment and feel like I’ll be able to thrive way more here than previously in other schools, especially with the help of the staff in the building.  With how unique things are done here, I know there’s plenty of exciting things and opportunities that I get to look forward to experiencing that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to in a typical school.  My high school years are now something I look forward to way, way more than I did in actual highschool buildings I was in before.

I feel like they [teachers] believe I actually have a chance of graduating from high school.  I didn’t get that in my last school.  I like this school and I never liked school before.  I have made new friends. My mood is better when I get here every morning.
